From WWF RAW ... 1999.
Mark Henry (w/Mae Young) is facing Crash Holly for the Hardcore title. During the match, Henry signals for a big splash when Mae hits the ring.
Lawler squeaks, "She's hardcore!" as Mae hits the ropes and delivers a big splash of her own. But when she hits, she hurts her stomach. We are reminded that Mae is "carrying" Henry's child.
Referee Chad Patton calls to the back. Suddenly, Patterson, Brisco, Moolah and several officials are in the ring. Moments later, Mae is taken to the back on a stretcher...
Commercial break...
In the back, Mae is being wheeled down the hall as the entourage annoyingly argues.
Another commercial...
We now see Mae ready to give birth courtesy of the EMT. Brisco, Moolah, Patterson and Henry are on hand to watch. Bickering between Patterson and Moolah is hard to listen to. "Settle down. You've got to have that baby!" Moolah yells at Mae in monotone.
Mae says she won't consider giving birth until she has a cigar ... Brisco runs and retrieves a cigar as everyone continues to squawk. Brisco returns with a big cigar that Mae promptly smokes. The EMT asks Henry if he's sure Mae is pregnant as Patterson and Brisco look between Mae's legs. Brisco feigns throwing-up.
Commercial...
Moolah is commanding that Mae "Bear down hard ... Mae growls in pain. But the audience is also in pain, listening to Mae groan and Patterson and Moolah bicker. The EMT claims he's having difficulty grabbing the child ... suddenly, he pulls out a rubber hand covered with mucus. He tries to act shocked but looks stupid in the process.
Brisco, again, "throws-up," as Patterson repeats, "A hand ... a hand ... let's give Mae a hand!" The group applauds as they cut to the ring.
Ross claims he never believed Mae was pregnant. And alas--the end to a painfully, God-awful segment. This was, at the time, unquestionably the lowest, pointless angle ... and truly, the illusion was shattered with this segment.
