From WWF Raw, 1996.
"The Great Debate" between Jerry Lawler and Paul E. Dangerously ... moderated by Jim Ross with commentary by Vince McMahon and The Honky Tonk Man.
Paul E comes out and Vince reminds us of the Tazz vs. "Sapu" match from earlier in the night. The question of the debate is: "Should ECW even exist?"
Lawler is given 90 seconds to start. Lawler asks if ECW even "exists" due to low attendance. Lawler calls ECW's roster a group of "misfits, thugs and has-beens" who couldn't make it in the "big leagues." The ECW roster (Dudleys, Eliminators) come down.
The King then calls ECW fans "brain damaged idiots" who watch wrestling in "bingo halls." Ross calls for Paul E's rebuttal bvut Lawler continues, comparing the average WWF attendance to ECW.
Paul E screams for The King to "shut the hell up," claiming that his roster "earns respect by bleeding, sweating and fighting." Paul E plugs the ECW PPV as Sandman, Tommy Dreamer and Beulah come down the aisle.
Before Paul E is done plugging the PPV, Sandman leans in: "Give me the high sign and I'll cane his ass right now."
Lawler says he can't understand why Vince would allow ECW to plug their PPV on RAW.
"You wanna shoot with me, Jerry?" Paul E asks. Lalwer says, in fact, that he wants to shoot with Paul E.
"How are the things at the sea-saws in Louisville, Jerry?" asks Heyman before mocking the fact that Lawler's kids despise him.
Lawler mocks Paul E for living with his parents. He then questions Heyman's sexuality by saying that he "hangs out with these guys ... because you're a little light in the loafers."
Dreamer storms the podium, shouting that he'll show Lawler how to start a "F'n war." The podium goes down, Sandman chugs a beer and Lawler calls his "his friends in the back." Everyone waits but no one comes down.
The King again calls for his friends but alas, no one comes down. The segment ends with Dreamer begging Lawler to take a swing at him ... The Honky Tonk Man comments that "the guys in the back couldn't hear" Lawler.
