A not so exciting PPV extravaganza.
--Eddy Guerrero vs. RVD: Eddy retains the now defunct IC belt by using the ropes during a backslide. Good match.
--Trish Stratus (w/Buh Buh Dudley) vs. Stacy Keibler (w/Rev. D-Von & Deacon Batista): A good match in Eddy-RVD followed by ... Trish vs. Stacy. Well, let's just ask this question ... how many matches has Stacy wrestled since this encounter? Not many. Trish gets a nasty clothesline from Batista but recovers, knocking Stacy into the "Deacon," hitting a weak bulldog (Stacy fell before Trish did) for the pin. Afterwards, D-Von and Batista put Buh Buh through a table, setting up an inter-promotional feud that we, alas, never saw...
--The Hardy Boyz vs. Brock Lesnar and Paul Heyman: OK ... logically, this was a way for the Hardyz to walk away from their feud with Brock still looking strong. After all, they would--apparently--pin Heyman and both the Hardyz and Brock would leave the match without being buried. Moreover, the Hardyz would leave without being buried. No such case. Paul Heyman pins Jeff Hardy, making the Hardyz look really, really bad. This was almost as bad as Oklahoma pinning Vampiro.
--Steve Austin vs. The Big Show & Ric Flair: Flair comes down with his old "Real World Champ" theme. Actually, for a handicap match, this match was really decent. Keep in mind, the nWo was still around during this time. X-Pac hits the ring to help TBS and everyone gets a Stunner ... Austin pins Flair.
--Kurt Angle vs. Edge: Hair vs. Hair match ... great match, hands-down, the best of the show. Edge pins Angle with a roll-up ... surprising finish. Nicely done. Angle runs away and Edge finally tracks him down later in the show. The two brawl on the stage and finally, Edge slaps on a sleeper, knocking Angle out and leaving him primed for a hair cut.
--Triple H vs. Chris Jericho: Hell in the Cell; rematch from WM18. Their WM18 match was bad ... so is this one. Hell in the Cell needs The Undertaker. The announcers keep bringing up past Hell in the Cell matches, making this one look worse. The finish has--of course--a brawl on the top of the cage. A barb wire 2X4 gets involved ... Jericho should never swing anything wrapped in barb wire. Hunter gets the pin after pedigree on the mesh. A sarcastic "Ouch!" goes here.
--Billy & Chuck vs. Rico & Rikishi: Not a good match. Basically, Billy & Chuck work over the "'Kish" until Rico makes the reluctant tag. Rico accidentally kicks Chuck and Rikishi pins him ... new--short-lived--tag champs.
--Hulk Hogan vs. The Undertaker: WWE World title ... this was before there were two titles but after the two other titles were unified. Or something like that. Not a good match either. Watch their 1991 Survivor Series match instead. Slow paced and Hogan looks really slow here. Some very weak chokeslams. UT gets the pin and the belt, setting up a few more consecutive PPV world title changes.
DVD extras...
Interviews with Buh Buh and D-Von ... Buh Buh is despondant over his brother's attack...
Interview with the Hardyz ... kind of funny ... Matt says he wants nothing to do with Brock anymore unless they have some "toys" to play with.
--William Regal vs. D-Lo Brown: For the defunct Euro title ... Regal rolls up D-Lo and uses the tights for the pin.
Byte this with Triple H...
Overall, the extras are typical but at least the interviews on this DVD last longer than 15 seconds each.
