Madusa's Championship Workout
Drop Kickin' It Old School Review

I ordered this tape back in 1994 was was kind of disappointed when I got it--that "Boxing Training Technique For Women" on the front cover kind of made me feel funny for some reason. I felt as if I couldn't watch the tape or something because I'm a guy. And that "F" in Madusa's whole "F.I.T." (Feminine, Intelligent and Tough) thing obviously didn't pertain either.

But I watched this tape and realized that it was actually a pretty good work out and, in fact, it wore me out the first time I did it. Simply, it's a combo of aerobics mixed with self defense tactics.

With several years of retrospective, I feel really sorry for Madusa. Mainly because (1) this was an excellent tape that (over time) I have heard very little about and (2) several years after Madusa's kickboxing cardio tape, the "Tae Bo" craze swept the country. Realistically, it should probably be Madusa on all those Tae Bo tapes and not Billy Blanks

Maybe it was because the tape wasn't marketed right; maybe the women of America would rather look at Billy Blanks than Madusa. Maybe people were disappointed after reading the back of the tape that states, "Joe DiMaggio introduces Spa Cuisine," only to learn upon watching that this Joe DiMaggio is a chef, not the famous baseball legend.

Regardless, if you are looking for an excellent work out tape, do what you can to find this tape; and fans of Madusa (such as myself) will undoubtedly enjoy it as well.

Unique fact: Madusa goes by her full wrestling name on this tape which is Madusa Micelli; at the time this tape was produced, she was known as Alunda Blayze in the WWF.
